On the occasion, Sardar Haider Zaman lauded the support of political parties for Hazara movement and said that the hospitality extended to Tehreek by the Pakhtun public in Battagram was a great source of encouragement for the people of Hazara. “The way our Pakhtun brothers always stand by our side is so heartening. The Pakhtun people fully realise that Hazara cause is a matter of mutual concern for all of us,” he said.
Earlier, an overwhelming procession right in the centre of Battagram city, yet again, dealt a mega blow to Awami National Party (ANP) that had repeatedly claimed of having a popular vote bank in the Pakhtun majority district. Last month, a mighty grand jirga and public processions were arranged in Battagram and Kohistan districts as well.
Wednesday’s procession in Battagram was organised by senior JUI-F leader and Khan of Battagram, Fayaz Khan, Khanzada Zafar Ali Khan, Prince Nawaz Khan and Alam Zeb Khan, in which the local leadership extended full support for Tehreek-e-Hazara and said that Pakhtun public would always welcome their Hazarawal brothers. The Tehreek leaders while linking the construction of Diamir-Bhasha Dam with the formation of Hazara province vowed that the people of Hazara will not give the permission to construct the Dam until the formation of Hazara province. The Hazara province is the constitutional and democratic right of the area people and the people of Hazara would not get back even a single step on their right.
On the occasion Baba Haider Zaman said that the people of Hazara which living across the country including Lahore and Karachi proved that they waked up for their right and wanted their own province.
Central Organiser Hazara Action Committee, Sardar Sheraz Afzal said, “ANP had tried to create division between Hazarawals and Pakhtuns but the repetition of the hospitality of Pakhtun public always foils malicious attempts of ANP to divide us. All the people of Hazara, whether they are Pakhtuns or non-Pakhtuns, identify themselves with Hazara cause. No one can separate us,” he added.
